What's included

What WordPress maintenance covers at Pomnex

One plan, covering the work every WordPress website needs whether or not anyone remembers to do it.

WordPress core updates

We apply WordPress core releases, security releases included, and check the site afterwards instead of assuming the update went through cleanly.

Plugin updates

Plugins are updated on a regular schedule. Anything known to be fragile is updated on its own, so a problem stays easy to trace.

Theme updates

Themes and child themes are updated carefully, so your design and the customisations built on top of it survive the update.

Reliable backups

Files and database are backed up on a schedule, so there is always a recent copy to restore from when something goes wrong.

Security monitoring

We watch for file changes nobody on your side made, known vulnerabilities in the plugins you run, and the signs that usually come before a compromise.

Uptime monitoring

Your site is checked from outside at regular intervals, so we find out it stopped responding without waiting for a customer to tell you.

Basic performance monitoring

We track load time and basic response numbers, and look into any slowdown as soon as they change, before visitors start leaving.

Monitoring for update-related issues

Most WordPress breakages start with an update. We review the site after every maintenance round and fix what an update changed or broke.

Human support

You write to people who already know your site and its history, not to a queue that starts from scratch every time.

Need functionality WordPress does not have out of the box? That is custom plugin development, quoted separately from your maintenance plan.

Why it matters

Why ongoing WordPress maintenance matters for your business

A WordPress site isn't finished when it launches. It runs on software that keeps changing underneath it, and a site nobody maintains usually looks fine until the day it suddenly breaks.

Prevent avoidable issues

Most WordPress incidents start with something ordinary: an outdated plugin, a postponed security release, a conflict introduced by an update. Routine care removes that whole class of problem.

Keep the website secure

Known vulnerabilities are published in the open, and automated scanners find unpatched sites quickly. Staying current is the single biggest thing anyone can do about that.

Keep the website stable

When updates are applied carefully and checked afterwards, the site keeps working the way it did yesterday, which is what your visitors and your team expect.

Detect problems early

Monitoring turns a problem you hear about from a customer into one we already know about, usually before it affects anyone at all.

Reduce downtime risk

A site that is watched, updated, and backed up recovers from a bad day in minutes. One that is none of those things recovers in days, if at all.

One less thing on your list

You stop carrying a maintenance list you never have time for, and stop wondering whether the last backup would actually restore.

The founder

Who runs your website

I'm Houssine Agha, founder of Pomnex. I've worked as a full-stack web developer and technical project manager for 7 years.

I founded Pomnex because most WordPress sites don't break because of bad design. They break because nobody is running them: a postponed update, a backup that was never tested, or an outdated plugin with a vulnerability.

When you subscribe, you won't deal with a ticketing system. You'll deal with a person, and I'm the one who writes to you when something needs a decision from you.

After you subscribe

What happens after you subscribe

  1. The first 48 hours

    • You send us access to the site and its hosting. This is the only step that needs anything from you.
    • We take the first full backup of your files and database.
    • We switch on uptime and security monitoring.
    • We review the site's state: overdue updates, plugins, backups, and security.
    • We send you what we found before changing anything.
  2. Continuously

    • The site is checked from the outside at regular intervals, so we know it's down before a customer tells you.
    • Unexpected file changes and known vulnerabilities in your plugins are watched.
    • Load time is tracked, and any slowdown is looked into when it happens.
  3. Every update round

    • WordPress, plugins, and themes are updated, with sensitive plugins updated one at a time.
    • The site is checked after updating. If an update breaks something, fixing it is part of the plan, not an extra invoice.
  4. Every month

    • A written summary: what was updated, what was detected, and what needs a decision from you.

What the plan doesn't cover

Adding new features or changing the design. That's custom development, priced separately.

Your site stays yours

No lock-in contract, and if you cancel, your data, accounts, and access stay with you.

FAQ

WordPress maintenance FAQ

The questions people ask us before subscribing.

What does WordPress maintenance include?

At Pomnex it includes WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates; scheduled backups of your files and database; security and uptime monitoring; basic performance monitoring; a check of the site after every update round; and support from people who know it. Work that changes what your site does, such as new features or custom functionality, is development and is quoted separately.

How much does WordPress maintenance cost?

Our WordPress maintenance service is $149 per month per website, which covers a standard WordPress or WooCommerce site, with the one-time $99 setup fee waived during our launch. Websites that are unusually large, high-traffic, or heavily customised are priced individually, from $349 per month. Tell us about the site and we will send you a quote.

Is there a setup fee?

The published setup fee is $99, once, and it is waived on every term during our launch period. It pays for the work that only happens once: the first full audit of the site, the first backup, clearing whatever update backlog it arrived with, and attaching monitoring. After launch, it will still be waived when you pay for a year up front.

What if I'm not satisfied?

Your first subscription comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If within 30 days of your service starting you decide it isn't for you, tell us and we refund what you paid in full, with no questions and no deductions. The guarantee applies to a customer's first maintenance subscription.

Why do I need WordPress maintenance?

WordPress, its plugins, and its themes change constantly, and their vulnerabilities are published in the open. A site nobody maintains looks fine until the day it gets hacked, breaks after an update, or goes down with no recent backup. Regular maintenance prevents most of these cases.

How often should WordPress be updated?

Security releases should be applied as soon as they are out, and verified. Routine core, plugin, and theme updates are better applied on a regular schedule with the site checked afterwards than automatically and unattended. That way an update problem is found the same day, not weeks later.

Do you maintain WooCommerce websites?

Yes. WooCommerce sites are part of what we maintain, and they get extra care around updates, because a broken checkout costs money directly. Very large stores or heavily customised checkouts can fall outside the standard plan, in which case we price them individually.

Can you fix problems caused by updates?

Yes, that is part of the plan. We check the site after each maintenance round, and if an update broke something, fixing it is our job and not a separate invoice. For problems that come from outside our work, such as a change someone else made or a failure at your host, we investigate and tell you what we found.

Can I cancel the service?

Yes. The plan is monthly and there is no lock-in contract. Cancel and the service ends with the month you have paid for; your website, your data, and your access stay yours.
